Two-axle central axle low loader with tiltable cargo floor

This central axle low loader, or tipping trailer, is highly suitable for transporting small and medium-sized earth-moving machines, excavators, pavers, rollers, road construction equipment, containers, and building materials. The useful payload ranges from 8 to 15 tons. These trailers are mainly used by companies that transport their own equipment behind the truck.

Thanks to the tiltable cargo floor, you can load quickly and efficiently. The tilting process is smooth, using a patented pneumatic system that utilizes the air pressure from the brake circuit.

This means there’s no hassle with hydraulic power or cylinders.

A vehicle with a tiltable cargo floor offers the following advantages compared to the fixed system with long loading ramps:

  • Since the full length of the cargo floor is used, along with the short ramps as a loading slope, it is longer than conventional loading ramps. The loading angle is therefore much lighter.

  • When driving tracked machines onto the trailer, there is no sharp angle where the machine could tip. The cargo floor itself tilts down, adding extra safety.

  • The weight distribution is always correct. It’s the machine's center of gravity that brings the cargo floor back to a flat position.

  • By using shorter and lighter loading ramps, the axles can be positioned further forward, which improves weight distribution and maneuverability.

  • Shorter loading ramps mean less air resistance and more space for unloading and loading machines at the rear.

  • The free angle at the rear is greater, as no low-hanging cylinders are needed at the back.

  • The extension of support legs is not required, as the rear beam touches the ground when loading.

  • The only downside is that it’s more difficult to load multiple machines, as the cargo floor remains tilted while loading them.

In summary, the tiltable cargo floor has the most advantages, making it the most popular choice in its category.

Only high-elasticity steel is used, offering exceptional strength with a minimal empty weight. This build quality guarantees an exceptionally long lifespan, with minimal risk of metal fatigue.

Additionally, the vehicles are optimally protected against corrosion through the hot-dip galvanizing of as many parts as possible, including the undercarriage. This process ensures lifetime protection against rust.

After assembly, the vehicles are finished with a two-component epoxy coating in a RAL color of your choice. This coating provides an extra barrier against wear, weather conditions, and chemical exposure, ensuring maximum protection against corrosion—even under intensive use in demanding environments.

The combination of long lifespan, reliability, and corrosion protection ensures that the operational cost of Gheysen & Verpoort vehicles is particularly low.
